A few days later, Elaine tells Alex how much she enjoys living with Bobby when, out of the blue, she receives a call from her boyfriend, who breaks up with her. Elaine leaves upset, and Alex informs Bobby to be careful, as Elaine is vulnerable and might want physical company. That night, Elaine wakes Bobby up to talk and have a glass of wine together, then Bobby panics that she is making advances and calls Alex. When Alex arrives in a robe and slippers after running 25 blocks through the snow to get there, Elaine gets upset that her actions have been misinterpreted. The guys feel ashamed of their chauvinism and they all make up.
